The Liverpool Winterguard and Winter Percussion Program is a part of the Pageantry Arts Program at Liverpool High School, which include our Winterguard Programs, Winter Percussion, and the Liverpool Marching Warriors Band. The program is open to students in grades 5-12 who are Liverpool residents, regardless of experience. Our staff are trained teachers, spinners, dancers, and musicians who serve as staff of the Liverpool Central School District - we love what we do and we'll teach you everything you need to know!
Winterguard is the sport of indoor colorguard. Modern colorguard is a combination of the use of flags, mock sabers, mock rifles, and other equipment, as well as dance and other interpretive movement. Colorguards can be found in, high schools, middle schools, universities, and also some independent organizations some of which are related to drum corps. In Liverpool, Winterguard is a co-curricular program supported by the Liverpool Central School District.
An indoor percussion ensemble or indoor drumline consists of the marching percussion (also called battery) and front ensemble (also called pit) sections of a marching band or drum corps. Indoor percussion marries elements of music performance, marching, and theater; thus, the activity is often referred to as percussion theater. In Liverpool, Winter Percussion is a co-curricular program supported by the Liverpool Central School District.
Winterguard and Winter Percussion offer an exciting world of performance and entertainment; a place where pageantry involves an array of equipment, movement, and skill. Winter Programs create friendships, talents, and standards of excellence, while fostering an environment where young men and women can grow, laugh, learn, and meet challenges as a group.
Our programs exist to foster positive experiences for all who participate, by promoting education, creativity, and freedom of expression. Our members are both music students and non-music students and come from all different backgrounds. If you have been looking for a way to combine your passion for performance and your school pride - come check out our Liverpool Winter Programs!
