Senior mallet player and section leader Julianna Bourgeois has been named the 2015 LHS Marching Warriors Scholarship Recipient through the Dollars for Scholars program.
Julie has been a member of the LHS Concert Chorale and orchestral program, as well as participating in the Marching Band all four years of high school. The Marching Warriors is a truly a family affair for Julie - her older sister Jackie marched flute in the band and Julianna has been joined on the field these past two years by her younger brother, James, in the trumpet section. Her parents, Barbara and Jim, are very active band parents and favorite chaperones and trip equipment haulers in addition to sporting three great LHSMB kids.
Julie, trained as a vocalist and string player, joined the front ensemble of the Marching Warriors and served as a member of our student leadership committee, sharing her love of marching band, level head, and beautiful empathy with both returning vets and new members. Julie plans to take that sense of leadership and caring to SUNY Polytechnic's College of Nanoscale Science this fall to study biochemistry. We wish Julie all the best in her future endeavors and congratulate her on her well-deserved award!
